Poker Player Sites will give you a brief overview of Online Poker Playing

1. Depending on the limits at the table you choose betting amounts will vary. Before the cards are dealt the two player that are to place blinds out will do so. This is called posting the blinds. One player will be the big blind and the other will be the small blind. The small blind will be half what is posted by the big blind. This is like a forced ante.
 

2. The Top online Poker Sites Dealer will then Deal out the cards. We will use a 52 card deck for the Texas Holdem game.
 

3. The dealer will then Deal out 2 cards to each of the online poker players. The 2 cards will be dealt face down so only the player can see them.

4. Now we will have a round of betting. We will start with the online poker player after the two players that posted the small and big blinds. This round of betting is done pre flop. Pre flop means before any more cards are dealt.
 

5. All Online Poker Players will be able to Check, Raise, or Fold when its there turn.
 

6. Once the betting is done. The Dealer will burn the top card on the deck. To burn a card just means to not play it.
 

7. Now the Online poker sites dealer will deal out three cards face up. These three cards can be used by all players at the table to make poker hands with there two cards they have face down. These three cards that are dealt up for all the poker players are know as the "Flop"
 

8. Now there will be more betting. Again all players will have the choice to Check, Raise, or Fold. However, If one player bets you must bet the same or Raise, or fold to stay in the game. You can not check if a bet is made. You must meet the bet, raise it, or fold your cards!
 

9. Next the Online Poker Dealer will burn another card. (Discard it) Then deal another card face up. This will be the fourth card dealt up and is know as the "Turn Card." Poker Players may now use this Turn card to make the best five card poker hand. Please refer to our Poker Hands page to see what poker hands beat what.
 

10. Players again Check, Bet, Raise, Or Fold! (Remember it is usually not wise to chase a straight or flush)
 

11. The Online Poker Dealer will now burn another card. This last card will be dealt face up on the poker table and it is your last chance to make the best poker hand you can! This last card that is dealt is known as the "River Card."
 

12. Players again Check, Bet, Raise, or Fold!
 

13. After all players have made the decision to stay or fold the remaining poker players will flip over there two face down cards and reveal there top online poker hand!
